I have booked two tickets under same PNR, one is confirmed and another is WL15. Can any plz tell me if the person with WL ticket can board the train and share the birth with the confirmed person. NOTE: both persons are senior citizens.

Its ok...If only pax berth is confirmed both can travel by sharing the berth,just intimate to TTE after boarding.

If the WL is not confirmed it is not legal to travel. If it is e-ticket the ticket is automatically cancelled and the amount is refunded to your credit card account. So in effect the WL ticket holder will be treated as ticketless traveller
Only Fully WL tickets shall get automatically cancelled..In such cases of Partially WL E-tickets they don't get both can travel by sharing the berth provided the TTE agrees (which they shall).But refund for the WL ticket cannot be claimed.

Refer the below wordings which is in important points of IRCTC E-Ticket Print out Copy.If the Second person or WL Pax isn't traveling below procedure is to be followed for claiming refund.

OF PASSENGERS traveled, A.C.FAILURE, TRAVEL IN LOWER CLASS.This original certificate must be sent to GGM (IT), IRCTC Ltd., Internet Ticketing Centre, IRCA Building, State Entry Road, New Delhi-110055 after filing on-line refund request for claiming refund.
