A person havinf a confirmed reservation ticket, misses his train. Can he board in a general compartment in another train on the same route using this reserved ticket which otherwise has become useless.

Why should this ticket not be allowed as an open unreserved ticket. Only thing changed is losing my reservation, but the fair i have paid must enable me to travel in general class.
The ticket is only meant to travel for that particular train and no other train.
In any case, inform TTE before boarding.
I didnt make it in-time for Lalquila Express @ GZB & boarded Prayagraj Express, who overtook Lalquila Express & alighted @ Khurja Jn (Prayagraj dont have stoppage, but stop there) & catched Lalquila Express...
Was having 2A ticket for Lalquila & asked TTE if he can adjust in SL till ALJN (as i was aware it will overtake Lalquila).
