MADURAI-THOOTHUKUDI Port and Vanchi Maniyachi - Kanniyakumari / Kolachal Port Doubling should be taken up immediately and 50 % FUNDS should be derived from Thoothukudi Major Port / Outer Harbour Port and Kolachal Minor Port development fund.
Moreover Kolachal Port should be developed as Major Port since its strategically located very adjacent to the TRI SEA CONFLUENCE of Indian Ocean,Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea in Kanniyakumari and adjacent to the INTERNATIONAL EAST- WEST SEA ROUTES.Presently Colombo Port enjoy Transhipment of Cargo/Container in the International Trade.If we develop Kolachal Minor Port to Major Port at-least 50 % of Colombo Port Cargo Traffic may be achieved.For this Tamil Nadu and Karnataka act as Hinterland and so Madurai-Virudhunagar-Vanchi Maniyachi - Tirunelveli- Nagercoil-Kolachal...
