Due to long distance people might fly than wasting 2 days in Raj with not much fare advantage. Also no such big pax movement between Delhi & Chennai.
you can easily get tickets 5-6 days in advance most time of year in TN & GT. also you can get tatkal anytime of day. not so much rush.
The reason i think is that, always in this train food quality is bad and not up to the mark and also i think they shoud make is faster, instead on 10.25 arrival at nzm it should reach around 8am.. so that 2 days are not wasted... have travelled many number of times in rajdhani and have noticed that it reached minimum 20 to 30 mins early at every station...
