This blog is posted here just for the Information of all rail fans.
All are humbly requested to share their views and opinions whether this move of mine will yeild any positive outcome or not????
Today I have sent an email to:
the Chief Operations Manager of South Eastern Railway Mr G.K Mohanti having email Id: com@ser.railnet.gov.in and also sent a copy
...
of this same mail to the General Manager Of South Eastern Railway Mr Shri Radhey Shyam having email Id: gm@ser.railnet.gov.in. I share the Subject of my mail and the mail body which was mailed to the Email IDs of both the Chief Operations Manager and General Manager of South Eastern Railway at 6.24 pm today.
Subject of the my Mail: "Request for providing 3 Phase Electric Locomotive WAP 7 in Santragachi(SRC) Loco Shed"
Mail Body of my email sent to the Chief Operations Manager and General Manager of South Eastern Railway at 6.24 pm today :
Respected Sir,
With reference to the subject as mentioned I would like to request you for providing "WAP 7 Locomotive" in Santragachi Loco Shed of South Eastern Railway for hauling the following trains of South Eastern Zone, replacing the conventional Loco WAP 4 of SRC/HWH Shed which presently hauling these trains.
The trains for which WAP 7 is requested are as follows:
12261/12262 HWH CSTM AC DURONTO EXP
12221/12222 HWH PUNE AC DURONTO EXP
12245/12246 HWH YPR DURONTO EXP
12277/12278 HWH PURI SHATABDI EXP
22807/22808 SRC CHENNAI SF AC EXP
12841/12842 HWH MAS COROMONDOL EXP
12860/12859 HWH CSTM GEETANJALI EXP
As a matter of fact South Eastern Zone does not have any 3 Phase Locomotive in it's Santragachi ELS but has 72-74 WAP 4's in It's SRC shed and all these are used for hauling the mail/express trains of SER Zone whether it is a non superfast or Superfast or Duronto or Shatabdi.
It is also a fact that Superfast Express like Tata Steel Express is still hauled by TATA WAM 4.
Rupasi Bangla/Tamralipta Express is still hauled by WAG 5 loco. Sometimes WAG 7 loco is also seen hauling mail/exp of South eastern Zone.
Very surprising incidents are these happened in South Eastern Zone, the reason for which is best known to you.

The first WAP 7 was manufactured by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works(CLW) in 19 th May 2000.The loco number was 30201 and the loco name was "Navkiran". Since then it was in service of Indian Railways. Initially it was allotted to GMO Shed but from 27.12.2012 this loco belongs to GZB Shed of northern zone. Now as per Oct 2014 statistics there are 205+ WAP 7 locomotives plying in Indian Railway, but astonishingly not a single WAP 7 has been seen in South Eastern Zone during this long term of 15 years.
I am very eager to know why WAP 7 is not allotted to SRC ELS of SER where Eastern Zone has 19 WAP 7s in their Howrah Shed.
Is there any possibility of allotting WAP 7 to SRC ELS in future for hauling the list of trains as mentioned????
or
Only WAP 4, WAM 4, WAG 5 etc will be seen in SER in the coming years also like it's past ?????
Sorry, but as a traveller and rail enthusiast it is very surprising to me that SER is still unable to provide WAP 7 for it's Duronto & Shatabdi Trains whereas other Zones can provide WAP 7/WAP 5 for their Rajdhani, Duronto ,Shatabdi and other important superfast trains.
Waiting for a prompt reply from your end.
Thanking you.
Don't know whether any reply will come from the end of Chief Operations Manager and General Manager regarding the Non allotment of WAP 7 in SRC ELS, but as a "Rail Fan" I took this step out of the curiosity why SER have no 3 phase Locos during this long term of 15 years since WAP 7 30201 made it's journey in 19 th May 2000.
Thanks

For South Eastern "WAP 4 and WAM 4" is the "Upgraded Locomotive" which is a "Common News" to all rail fans and nevertheless there would be any need felt for WAP5 or WAP 7 in SER.
Coming to your point "60% of SER trains pass through ECOR where MPs is quite low 110 so there is absolutely no need of P7 or P5, p4 is doing a great job and they hit occasionally 120 to in kgp hwh stretch". "WAP 7" is a locomotive which can haul 21 to 24 Coachers decently at a low speed also( 49/50 kmph) and better than P4. The glaring Instance is "18477 PURI HW Kalinga Utkal Exp" is a train of ECOR and ECOR arranged

"WAP 7" for this train, which is a non superfast train. TKD WAP 7 is the Permanent Link of Kalinga Utkal Exp from Puri to Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin. It is a praiseworthy move on the part of ECOR that they provide WAP 7 for a "Non Superfast" train. Another praiseworthy move of ECOR is making HWH PURI Shatabdi Exp LHB.
On the other hand SER uses WAP 4/WAM4/WAG 5A/WAG 7 for their "Durontos"and other Superfast Train.
The advancement of SER "SER mein Superfast WAM 4 mein chalte hain, Passenger bhi WAM 4 mein chalte hain". As a matter of fact SER should introduce more WAM 4s/ WAG 5As/WAG 7/WAP 4s for their mail/exp.
A "great zone" of Indian Railways indeed(SER) which is still not overcome the illusion of nostalgia of WAM4/WAP 4/WAG 5A etc and it is my belief that so long Indian Railway will exist SER won't overcome this nostalgia of "Hitachi Traction Powered Conventional Locos". It is the main difference of SER from all other Zones of IR.

As no reply has yet been received from the Chief Operations Manger and General Manager of South Eastern Railway of the email which had been sent to them on 08.01.2015 and described in Entry #1334826, today I have forwarded the same email to
customercare@indianrailways.gov.in and requesting them to look into the matter promptly so that the feedback of Chief Operations Manger and General Manager of South Eastern Railway can be known regarding the "Allotment and Use of 3 Phase Electric Locomotive in South Eastern Zone" as soon as possible.
