Can someone please explain how can one go about booking tickets using telescopic fare benefit? I mean, is there any prescribed form? If yes where would one obtain it? Actually, I am travelling from KJM to BLS soon and when I tried booking a direct ticket in DEC 2014 for Journey on 21st Jan 2015, I could not get any confirmed berths in direct trains. So I booked 2 tkts - One from KJM to KPD in 12610/Bangalore-Chennai InterCity Express - class 2S & then another tkt from KPD to BLS by 22604/Villupuram - Kharagpur SF Express - Class 3A.
Had I booked a tkt direct by using telescopic fares, could I have saved some money? And was telescopic fare available for

I am much familiar with booking of CJTs. So for telescopic benefits, should I go about the same way - I mean fill the form and hand over to the booking clerk and he issues a tkt from 'A' to 'B' and then I do separate reservations for each leg of journeys?

No in one booking itself you can get reservation for multiple legs. But without the first leg ticket the onward journey tickets won't be valid...

Ok. Thanks a lot for this link. I have seen the form. So correct me if I am wrong on this example - Suppose I need to travel from KJM to HWH via MAS (of course after knowing that there are NO confirmed tkts available in direct trains). So, I mention in the form that FROM Stn: KJM; TO Stn: HWH - Resrv up to MAS by Lalbagh Exp and in ONWARD Journey details: MAS to HWH by Coromandel Exp. Am I correct?
