Some facts over loco sheds:
1) There are total 80 loco sheds all over India, out of which 51 are diesel and 29 are electric
2) ECR and WR house most number of sheds (9 each)
3) NWR,SWR and NER have lowest number of sheds (only 2 diesel sheds each)

So far the only 5000HP diesel loco in India (WDG5) belongs to Sabarmati
5) The only WAP6 (Modified WAP4 project of IR which malfunctioned) belongs to Asansol
6) The original ABB- made 3-phase locos (WAP5) now belong to Vadodara and Ghaziabad
7) Howrah is the only major station in India which has a loco shed
8) Bardhaman is the only loco shed in India whose loco hauls International train- Maitree Express (As currently Samjhuta and Thar are not allowed to cross the border)
9) Even though the project uni-gauge completes, GOC still will house some YDMs(Meter gauge loco) for Mettupalayam-Udgamandalam railway (Nilagiri). Surprisingly, GOC is almost 400KM away from Nilagiri Railway.
10) Only one loco manufacturing place has it's own shed- Jhansi (BHEL locos are produced here)
