The existing Tirunelveli-Vanchi Maniachi -Kovilpatti- Virudhunagar section have to be linked form the under construction new line Madurai-Aruppukkottai-Vilathikulam-Thoothukkudi via Ettayapuram to Kovilpatti .Then Kovilpatti to Sankarankoil have to be linked for the Thoothukkudi harbour which have additional line to Kerala side via Sankarankoil ,Shenkottai ,Punalur and Kollam.
