When a passenger is upgraded to Higher class ? Is it at the time of Charting ? If any passenger is upgraded to higher class, is it free or the upgraded passenger need to pay any payment to TTE at the time of checking ?

Thanks Mr. Harshal. Some time I have seen, in A/c classes some seats / berths goes vaccant. I have done it once I myself upgraded to 3rd A/c from Sleeper in Kaveri express sometime bak. I just chkd the chart, it showed about 6 to 7 vaccant berths. I just enquired the TTE of A/c coach, he said come in. I Informed my coach TTE that I'm upgrading to 3rd A/c. He immediatley noted in his chart & I boarded A/c coach and occupaid a vaccant upper Berth. I just paid the difference in fare, for which he issued a slip. I happly slept til the...
