i also had this joy of upgradation from SL to 3A in 12619 Matsyagandha Exp, but my joy was short-lived as heavy downpour in Mumbai caused lot of water logging on tracks and Matsyagandha was cancelled :(
I have also enjoyed once in 18234 in which my ticket got upgraded from SL to 3A. I was lucky enough to board the train by running half a mile in rain at dark night
I had the super luck of getting upgraded thrice ...the best one was when i got upgraded from SL to 2AC while travelling on HWH-MAS mail from VSKP to MAS in Sepetmber 2012
i also had the luck of upgradation from3A to 2A in Godavari exp once.. from SC to VSKP :)
How this UPGRADATION works ? I mean AC seats are vacant at the time of chart preparation or excess BOGIE attached to the train ? What is the reason ?
