Can I buy a ticket at the station window just before the departure? I understand that I won't get a reservation. Is it possible to buy a seat from TTE by paying additional fare? If yes, how much? Thank you for reading this post.

the observations made by jiteshji are equally true for dehradun janshatabdi, ludhiana intercity etc. one can check in current reservations counter abt a confirmed ticket. a ticket can be booked on the day of departure also.
but even without reservations passengers board and talk with tte for reservations.

Dear Blogger at 11:38 AM and Shri Jitesh ji,
This practice is indeed there for the Trains which are normally not full. It is temporarily also provided for the trains which remain vacant to some extent during some particular days / season.
Yet, 2051 is a train in demand and this practice needs not be exercised by Railaways.
And hence prior reservation is reccomneded,
...
please.

That is what I have written in last sentence in my blog, that situation may be different for 2051 because I am not aware of the rush in this particular train so thats why I suggested the Initial blogger to confirm it from local inquiry no also.
