How many from south ??. All these key positions occupied by some regions only it seems.
It is an all India service. Everyone entitled to sit and compete. And this is a partial list. Not all DRMs are listed here.
Some times the whole list is full of meritorious South Indians.

the availiablity of more well paying job oppurtunities in south owing to presence of MNC's and private sector means that youth of this region weren't really inclined to join group A service of India, whether its engineering services or civil services.
Things are changing though now, with AP having seen highest number of qualifying students in civil services

Therailway is totally in the hands of Goyal, Gupta and Bansals. They are known to be very shrewed and cunning people in business circle. It seems the railway is being run on similar lines( for their personal benefit)
