Can I book an onward journey ticket from manmad (mmr) to Chennai via hyderabad. from mmr to Secunderabad by ajanta express and then from hyderabad to Chennai by charminar express. With a break journey of 1 day in hyderabad

I tried the same at the counter but he is telling it is not possible
He must have been giving the same reason what I was giving! i.e. "the deviation from actual route (MMR-MAS) to the present route (MMR-SC-MAS) must not be more than 15%"
I tried SC to SBC via TPTY (1 day halt at TPTY for darshan), trains were Narayandri and HTE-YPR SF from TPTY), he denied , so I was with left with no other option and booking different tickets for both section!

The distance for break journey is with limits...Shortest direct route train from Chennai-MMR actually is MAS-NSL is 1486 Kms and MMR is around 23 Kms from NSL...So add its around 1510 Kms.

If the passengers takes even Charminar the longest distance one between MAS-SC its 781 Kms & Ajanta end to end is 737 Kms so adding makes it 1518 Kms you can clearly see its with in limits infact pretty much same.

In your scenario its way over the limit...The KCG-SBC SF is 626 Kms travel & Venkatadri KCG-TPTY is 636 Kms and add 339 Kms to TPTY-YPR stretch so over shooting the limit.
