In a bid to achieve their long-pending demand of Kotipalli-Narasapuram railway line, people of Konaseema region under the aegis of the Konaseema Joint Action Committee will take out a ‘padayatra’ along the proposed railway track for three days from November 27. Cutting across the party lines, representatives of all the political parties – including Amalapuram MP from the TDP – are participating in the programme.

the Konaseema, for whom bus is the only mode of transportation. Not just the commuter traffic, but there is a huge scope for freight movement too in the route, as the region is known for its yield of coconut, banana and marine produce.
“We have planned for a strong movement this time and people from different walks of life have come forward to support the movement voluntarily,” says Bandaru Rammohana Rao, chairman of the JAC.

If the line comes up, the point of joining will be between NS and Palakollu, right? As far as I remember, the south side of NS station is completely closed by the town and it is not possible to approach the station from the south while coming from Amalapuram side, without going round the town. The connection will most probably be between Palakollu and NS with a bypass line towards BVRT. NS might be the future CCT, just missing out from the mainline by just a few kilometers ( unless the propsed port corridor is sanctioned ) !!
