The Railway Board has approved the diversion of five pairs of passenger trains via Barauni-Shahpur Patoree-Sonepur - Pataliputra Junction-Danapur instead of Barauni-Mokama- Patna-Danapur with effect from August 1, 2016.
According to an East Central Railway notification, these trains are Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12423-12424), Guwahati-Anand Vihar North East Express (12505-12506), Guwahati-New Delhi Purvottar Samapark Kranti Express (12501-12502), Kamakhya-Lokman Tilak Express (12519-12520) and Jogbani-Anand Vihar Seemanchal Express (12487-12488).

to Danapur DRM R K Jha, these trains will have stoppages at Pataliputra Junction. "The Guwahati-New Delhi Purvottar Seemanchal Kranti Express will only have operational stoppage at Pataliputra Junction where the train's crew will change," he said, adding the Board has also allowed temporary stoppage of two minutes of these trains at Danapur station.
