Yeah ..This makes sense, the Hatia Yard Shunters will have to travel all the way upto Ranchi in that case. Otherwise the diesel loco needs to be reversed at Ranchi .. Anyways all trains have elongated stoppage at Ranchi, so loco reversal timing will not be an issue to the schedule.
On another hand, I did read somewhere that the DRM is planning to setup Second major Yard for Ranchi @ Tatisilwai. Once that is established, Lohardaga - Tori bound trains can originate from Tatisilwai instead of Hatia.

I didn't say 5 Hrs.. I was saying, Buses take 5 Hrs to Reach Daltonganj compared to 3 Hrs by Trains via this new route... So 2 Hrs of saving.. Pls. read carefully.
Seems you just posted without reading it thoroughly , In last line it is mentioned that " travel timing between Delhi and Ranchi was expected to reduce by over five hours, the officials said " Thats whay i said how total journey time will be reduced by 5 hours between hte to ndls
Gotcha .... I thought you replied to one of my posts as I never mentioned that myself ...On the contrary I have been reiterating the same as you, i.e. max saving will be 3 Hrs for the slow trains and 1.5 to 2 Hrs for the Super fast / Exp.
