It has been a common trend that premium trains do not take bypass for major stations if proper facilities are not available in the substitute station. But yes , there are exceptions. As said above , chances are less
I agree with you chances are very less but there is no rule that premium train does not take bypass for major station For example BHOPAL JN. there are few trains which use to take bypass for BPL
As an exception raipur ljn garib rath run with same TT upto katni bypassing bilaspur at uslapur but its route is short , terminates at 5 am morning at ljn.
