Wow! getting wait listed ticket in IIAC tickets in Mumbai/Kokata/ Chennai/ Banglore Rajdhani should be preferable over the getting a confirmed one. If there is option to get either a confirm ticket or a waitlisted IIAC tickets even if tickets are available, I bet, many passengers will opt for waitlisted one!

Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul activities, Reduction of VAT on Aviation fuel. Maximum fare shall be capped at Rs 2500/- for up to 1 hr flight (i.e. up to aerial distance of around 600 kms). These measures are likely to drastically increase the annual domestic air traffic from present 7 crores to 30 crores in next 6 years.
Above development is going to badly hit Indian Railways in a big way. This is high time for Rly ministry to demand withdrawal of service tax on AC tickets to prevent loosing its premium passengers to airways as the same concession is proposed for the air travel as well.
