A Walk In The Yard
Small visit to Bhagalpur Yard for the first time. Met 2 RFs at Bhagalpur JN that day and we together explored all the nook and corners of the Yard. 2 Trains were parked there- 15097/15098 Bhagalpur-Jammu Tawi Amaranth Express and 12335/12336 BHAGALPUR-LTT SF Express. Thorough cleaning of Amaranth Express was going on, cleaning of BGP-LTT was already done and it was waiting to be placed on Platform. Enter JMP WDS 6R 36117. Few days ago, this shunter was at Jamalpur but now it was doing its duty here at Bhagalpur. As a result of 24 coacher pitline being pre-occupied, Vikramshila was stranded on PF 1 since it's Arrival. It was brought in the Yard

just after our departure.
Amaranth Express had its coaches of varied bases- Gorakhpur, Chhapra and Lucknow. 2016 made SL was there too while AC coaches were tad too old. Yard workers were working hard for rigorous cleaning of coaches.
BGP-LTT had mixture of new and old coaches - some being of 2015 while some of 90s (one SL was of 1996, SLR of 1999 and 2004), but were almost equally shining.
One shiny, 2006 made, 3ac coach of ER was standing alone. Also, some more coaches of ER were there - SL, Pantry, GS and SLR in 3 groups; some old- some new, some shining- some not so shining.
While heading for the Station, we spotted Gaya-Jamalpur-Rampurhat Passenger departing with JMP WDM 3A 16542R- These days this loco tows Jamalpur-Tilrath/Khagaria DMU. One Brown coloured Camping Coach coupled with a crane and one Auxiliary Medical Van were also standing. One coach was undergoing repairs in Sick Line. A far away glance at the soon to be opened Indian Oil Corporation Diesel Filling Capacity was enough to tell that There would be less diesel wastage in the coming days. Lastly, we encountered the Newly Painted Board of Coaching Complex with LHB Coach being chosen to represent as the logo. We then reached PF 1 of BGP, had a small chat on various topics and finally headed for our pastures.
Overall, it was a great experience for me to witness the live happenings of a Yard, to see how cleaning and maintainence is done and how the standards are followed so that we get clean coaches to travel in. Meeting 2 RFs of the same region, with common thinking and interests was icing on the cake.
More Pics to Follow shortly.
