sobriquet of “Unity in Diversity” to our nation owes a lot to such long distance trains for facilitating seamless integration of people of vast geographical area served by them.
After independence, Republic of India was formed by combining scores of small & large princely states with much difficulty, thanks to the respected iron man of India i.e. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. His legacy is very well guarded by IRlys. Today many long distance trains are breeding ground of brotherhood amongst people from large & diverse geographical area of our nation.
