Is even 65 kmph safe in an elephant corridor?
If supposedly an elephant decides to jump tracks, how far much a 24 coached train be, to able to stop safely, in time?

Even with 65kmph, they have killed 3 elephants in this month by three accidents. They are overspeeding the actual limit to maintain schedule.
Forest department demanding to slow down to 30kmph.
40 is good enough to stop the train after spotting

I believe that hitting a 5 tonne elephant might also not be good enough for the locomotive too, even though it weighs around 120 tonnes (WAP-4 or a WAP-7 considered here). That is a lot of momentum!
Anyway killing an highly sentient, intelligent and an endangered species must be avoided at all costs!
After all the Earth is not just ours, it is we who traversed into their territory, laid tracks for our benefits.....
