hi,
i want to know why the hell the Indian Railways not doing two line track on Delhi-saharanpur- dehradun route.....i was a kid when i use to go from dehradun to mumbai in the oldest and most worst train of india Doon Express..till date the route is single lane ..if it will will be two lane i think journey will be faster and more trains..but not a single rail minister think of that they only think about there states whether .it was Lallu or DIDI..same old story i dont when i will reach Dehradun in 2 hrs from delhi..

you can never reach dehradun in 2 hours. 315kms in 2 hrs. even Duronto or rajdhani does not have that much average in india. forget abt reaching in 2 hours.
there may be reasons for which doubling of the track is not made. acquisition of land, fund etc. what abt traffic?

First of all Mukesh, you can never reach dehradun from Delhi in 2 hours.
Track from Delhi to Meerut is double. Then from Meerut to Saharanpur it is single lane. Saharanpur-Roorkee-Laksar track is double and electrified. While Laksar-Haridwar-Dehradun track is single.
There is scope in doubling Meerut-Saharanpur track and I think there is a proposal to do so also. For Laksar-Dehradun route, a large part of track pass through Rajaji National Park between Haridwar and Dehradun, so I think it is not beneficial to speed up trains.
