For a SF to have so much stoppages in a mere 2 hr ride will be difficult, add to that very less quota availble after NJP.And already there is a stoppage at Mathabhanga which is not far away as well.I would rather vouch for more DEMU services.A new train from Dhubri to KOAA can definitely be envisaged and can have stoppages at TFG,MHBA,NCBD,MYGD,JPE to cater to the target crowd.

A distance of 71+ kms by road from Jalpaiguri To Mathbhanga or 50 from NJP to Jalpaiguri and that too in North Bengal is a considerable distance by all means. And how many SF trains to Kolkata does NCB require? Or for that matter even NOQ? A train from Dhubri would probably not be a superfast and would probably take a lot more time and have ridiculous timings for the people of Jalpaiguri. Almost all SF trains originating from Bihar have scores of stoppages between PNBE and MGS. So why not have a few more for this if this will benefit more people? Look at the Northeast Express (JPE stoppage), or SF trains to South India (stoppage at Dhupguri) and the GHY-SBC express (with stoppages both at Dhupguri and JPE) and you would understand what I mean. These too have extra stoppages at these places within 2 hours. And if I...

were to agree to you then I think a stoppage at NCB is not justified simply because it is just around 20kms from NOQ the terminating station.

I guess you have not read my previous posts as I have always maintained that Stoppage at Jalpaiguri Rd for Padatik is required as it is the target poulation the train is going to serve. But not required at NCBD.As far as stoppage at NCB is concerned,it not only caters to its Town but also to surrounding catchment areas in Bamanhat,Tufanganj,Dhubri etc.NCB would always have stoppage even if NOQ doesnt(which is there for Raj and 1-2 other trains). As far as Dhubri train is concerned,Its a huge populated town catering to a lot of Lower Assam passengers, accompanied with passengers of nbengal in TFG,NCB,MHBA,JPE,NJP and who said it would have odd arrival at JPE.DBB train would always have daytime journey in between DBB and NJP as evening departures are not possible due to unavailability of slots.Stoppages will be there in the region it will cater to and will have minimal stoppages en route...

after NJP.
