Coal Train derailed in Jabalpur
जबलपुर। शुक्रवार सुबह करीब 8 बजे पश्चिम मध्य रेलवे के देवरा स्टेशन के पास पचौर बंधा की पुलिया टूट गई। जिससे कोयला ले जा रही मालगाड़ी के दो दर्जन डिब्बे पलट पटरी से उतर कर पलट गए। वहीं कुछ ही मिनट पहले ही यात्री गाड़ी शक्तिपुंज एक्सप्रेस पुलिया से गुजरी थी।
प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार शुक्रवार तड़के एक मालगाड़ी पटरी से उतर गई । मालगाड़ी पटरी से उतरने के कारण इस इकहरे रेलखण्ड में यातायात पूरी तरह से अवरुद्ध है। दुर्घटना स्थल पर सुधार कार्य शुरू कर दिया...

Derailments actually occur in relatively large numbers than what is reported widely. Especially good train derailment which doesnot get that much attention despite disrupting the passenger train's traffic. e.g. This week on Monday, there was a goods train derailment between Jajpur Keonjhar Road-Cuttack. I saw it myself being onbaord Falaknuma Express that got delayed by 2.5 hr as a result. But didnot hear it on popular news.
Why are good trains derailed much more than pax trains? I mean, is there a technical reason behind this?
I guess, due to heavier load the chances of wheel slipping during over-speeding is higher which may lead to derailment. However, I may be wrong.
You are 100 per cent. Movement of good train takes place whenever the track is free from passenger trains. Goods train have to be moved at the earliest, as aresult, the chances of wheel slipping is much more especially where it is single line-like in this route-. Maintenance of tracks is therefore not proper, so chances of risk accident are more.
