Linking the two routes at SBC station is now an almost impossible task. With the current platform locations, there isn't enough space to construct a track connecting the two as the required alignment for connecting 8-10 to the MAS side passes through the industrial establishment outside SBC station. Connecting the YPR route to PF 1-7 is even more difficult currently due to the rather sharp curve taken by the MAS route right before SBC.
For connecting both routes at SBC station, PF's 8-10 will have to be moved southwards by almost a third of their length, which is a cumbersome task that SWR will surely never take up. Joining both routes at SBC could have been possible

only at the time YPR route was being converted to BG. Now, it's too late to solve that issue.

Even now, PF 6/7 can be linked to MWM line with minor realignments and modifications. If SWR wants to do, they will be able to do. Else, only reasons for not doing will be put up.

Possible, yes. but not exactly minor modifications. With the current layout of the buildings around the station and the the rather sharp deviation between the MAS line and YPR line after the station, there isn't enough space to accommodate the curve required to connect both routes.
PF's 6,7 can be connected to YPR line if the entrance building between PF's 7 and 8 is demolished and the north end of PF 7/8 suitably re-aligned. But the opposite ( MAS line to PF's 8-10) isn't possible without a complete re-planning of the western part of the station. Even if the entrance between PF's 7 and 8 is demolished and land freed up for the railway, the

MAS line just curves out too rapidly and will require PF's 8-10 and some part of the yard to be shifted to the south by a good distance. A bit too much to expect, even from a well-functioning zone (unlike SWR).
Let's hope SWR will at least utilize the Binny mills land properly and connect the MYS route to PF's 1-4.

SWR to decide positively on linking 2 lines. Ticket counter can be shifted to nearer the main road. Parking space can be on MWM line side.
Such a link can be used for running trains via SBC (Say LTT-CBE, MAS-UBL, DR-TEN/PDY even 5 days a week NCJ/TVC -CSTM). These trains can come via BNC and go via YPR. Will be helpful to lots of people. Even one can think of MAS-MAQor CBE/SA-SMET via SBC.
