Not all but some business counters are accepting them
Technically there is no bar on number in bank deposit.
Govt simply wants to see them in open.

Chaos in many parts of India. Rly stn. Have put up notice board & strictly restricted old note of 500/1000 rupees ka Len den from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm only. This is going on here in Eastern & North Eastern Indian States
no all deposits will have a check at Income tax dept. No tax exemption for deposits
