Railways have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding/Joint Venture Agreement(s) with the States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha & Telangana. A similar company is already in place for Karnataka.
So far, 17 State Governments have shown interest and supported the Joint ventures with Indian Railways for the development of Railway infrastructure s in their states.
In addition to the States mentioned in answer to part (a) above, the other States who have shown interest in such proposals are Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

In Telangana more than 5 years back ( in Shri Lallu Prasad's budget ) state government accepted for 50 % share in manuguru- ramagundam new line. Yet not no movement on this project. Kovvuru line also in similar situation, Singareni already spent lot of money though railway is not involving much in budget allocation. This time TS govt took special interest on karimnagar- manorabad line. These three projects are related to state government sharing.
