et shed is doing this to increase the working life of its old diesel horses at least until et-kte electrification is complete, but I personally don't like the concept
It is a useful concept though. It reduces wear and tear on locomotives, improves the fuel efficiency and provides better acceleration too and is particularly well suited to this train's halt pattern. ( The locomotives still young though. They are barely 20 years old)
Yes fuel efficiency and engine life both increases but it is pollution causing air and noise both. Instead single wdp 4 from et shed is sufficient
