WAP4E here E means that this loco has a special feature that detects the loss of pressure in vaccum pipes. All WAP4E are in BRC
Strange! Never heard of WAP4P before :)
In case of WAM4-6P, 6P indicates that all 6 motors are connected in parallel unlike a normal WAM4 with 2S-3P config (2 in series, 3 in parallel). In WAP4, all six motors are already connected in parallel as per its design. Any special meaning for 'P' here? :D

'E' was actually used to indicate locomotives with air brakes. I guess, the WAP4E is just a normal WAP4 but named according to the RDSO convention. Electronic pressure detection is now present in several WAP4's. It is not clear if BRC shed names their locomotives as WAP4E because of this.
"E" pe Already Explain kar diya hai maine /blog/post/2069448 !
