I am curious because many EXP/SF trains stop at PMKT(zone changes from SCR -> CR) which is a very small station without any passengers using it.
ADB is just 20KMs away from PMKT. still many trains stop here literally for hours.

No there is no need for halt even if there is zone change............halts at PMKT may be due to some other reason...........
again a general cliched reply.............if it's so then for every zonal or divisional interchange station there would have been a halt.
