Also on SBC-MYS line. They set scrap material on fire on tracks and use the fire to melt and harden (using rails as anvil) some of their work materials. When Rly. staff accompanied by GRP go to stop, get thrashed. When senior officers go with heavy police protection, politicians stop them using their clout. Its in slums and illegally occupied houses that votes lie. Vote bank politics!
how many of the rail accidents in the country over the last several years, were attributable to the unauthotised construction near railway tracks? Almost of all of them were either due to negligence by IR (or its staff) or its crumbling infrastructure. The tracks are rotting and coaches are crumbling.
Let IR put its house in order first before complaining against other factors as cause of accidents.
