Its always not about the shortest route. The Ballari-Chitradurga line is least utilised. Now atleast they have a train to Hyderabad and Delhi.
then run it to DLI only.

Actually few changes can make it a very useful train.

1. By making it daily and SF with UR coaches, it will connect RDG (which is soon gonna be junction too) part of AP to their joint capital HYB. It will be the only train. It will be overnight too.
