Boss, India is huge country with big, very big poverty issues. IR should deploy staffs to prevent such people from taking shelter in railway stations. This is a very big task for railways to monitor each and every stations from big to small in every state and IR has got much more important activities than this!
I have seen Central railways work to control this menace at LTT and Dadar for few days, but couldn't succeed. They have given up! And now beggars spoil the newly modified LTT also. It was shameful to see this happening at a modified railway terminus.
Still,

As stated by the originator of this post, please no controversy. I am giving my opinion and you are getting angry.
Your reply point no 2 - please open your eyes... this is very common in India.
Your reply point no 3 & 4 - Beggars are not the only one who litter, spit and defecate on the stations. But yes, they are major contributors to it. Same is the case for crimes.

I am not clear if you are "for" or "against" the beggars taking shelter on station.

Ya my eyes are open, also having worked with rehabilitation of many destitutes, I know for a fact that only few beggars are there who let their govt. provided houses for rent (media highlights them and some believe that poor people are crooks and are deliberately remaining poor and love living in slums).
-
The ads that govt. tom-toms about providing houses is for a very few. Millions are homeless and millions live in makeshift huts. The fact that so many die every winter in North without/inadequate shelter, itself proves it.
-
...

Beggars can afford to buy all sorts of packaged food? The wrappers and covers and bottles one sees littered across tracks, beggars threw them from trains?
-
They commit most crimes? What sort of mentality is this, that anyone from upper class are good outstanding members of society and the poor/homeless/orphans/beggars/lepers are thieves and criminals ?
-
You made sweeping generalities and I responded and I am being accused of being controversial.
-
I am not batting for them to live their life in stations, but we need to understand (if possible help) this oppressed class and how with no other means/shelter they come and sleep in stations.
