stopping landslide on this root is herculean task.
Nature is 'unstoppable'
1-solid rocks roll down -Cracks developed due to mindless blasting at the time of carving out -a-tunnels, and -b- removing hindering hard rocky plateau
2-Soft Earth mounds/hills- are cut such that their structure too is damaged.
and
...
both are waiting for any push. And this is happening only when the heavy rain, accumulates at top of hills and gives push to cracked rock and soft earth which comes rushing down on any protection and ultimately on track and trains.
If this problem is to be rooted out :
-Mass Tree plantation on the surface that are threatening landslide needs to be done. As Military had done some time back.
-Trees are the only 'adhersive' that works. No wall protection will hold the power of gushing water carrying earth/mud/rock.
