As per News Entry# 289061 Blog Entry# 2096574 many routes will be electrified and those routes are as follows :
Gorakhpur cantt - Kaptanganj - Valmikinagar (96 Km)
Anand nagar - Gonda - Bahraich - Mailani (443 Km)

Kaptanganj - Thawe - Khairah - Chhapra kacheri (206 Km)

All said routes can be electrified as either those are Single Diesel-Line or already electrification is going on however its really strange to see about "Anand nagar - Gonda - Bahraich - Mailani (443 Km)" where Anand nagar to Gonda is already Single Diesel-Line and electrification can be done but how about "Gonda - Bahraich" route which is still under gauge conversion. Worst part is "Bahraich - Mailani" route is still running on meter gauge and no news been published about gauge conversion. By looking all these it very clear that it all politics related not on paper. NER is really not doing good. There is no proper planning. Very hard to say what would be NER future.
