While traveling in Bangalore to Hazarat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express i have come across the tip menace by the servers.The servers employed by private caterers have made it a regular practice to collect tips from all the passengers.Whether railways will put an end to this menace?

I had the same experience but when waiter came to me with a tray and said 'Nameste Sir' I said Nameste and start looking outside window - after couple of minutes he left - so better to ignore them

once when i was in ERS NZM durunto during its intial runs... when the train left Mathura, first the pantry guy came and asked for the tip and after a few mins the coach attender came with a book and asked me to write the opinion on the ac, bedding, cleaning... after that to my daam surprise he asked me too.. to be honest i saw him for the first tym.. when the train had left ERS, the beddings and all were already provided..and the cleaning was done by some one else too... told him that i had given to pantry vaala...

I have traveled in Sealdah Rajdhani , there the server asked for tip . Same in the case of HWH - RNC Shatabdi . Same in the case of a snack bar where I had lunch with my parents day before yesterday (23rd July , 2011 [Sat]) . This "Tip" culture is an Evil Social Menace introduced by Britishers during their rule in India . It's about time that our Central Govt (Food Mins along with Company Affairs Mins) jointly abolish this practice like "Lagaan" from our food establishments (Trains/Restaurants/Snack Bars etc ) . What say ??

Surprisingly, I haven't travelled by the Rajdhani or Shatabdi.I may embark on a voyage during ONAM, especially with the introduction of the gleaming new LHB coaches of TVC Rajdhani.
PS. Do we get RAILBANDHOOS in Rajdhani ?
