Patiala and Bathinda both are going to have Electric Loco Sheds in the near future, as proposed to RB.
Ambala Division doesn't have its own Loco shed to ply locos from Ambala to Bathinda via Patiala. The proposed loco shed at Patiala shall cater to PTA -BTI and PTA-KLK section. These sheds have recently been proposed to handle elecos plying on EDFC routes and Railways and vice versa. As Rajpura Patiala Bathinda is a feeder route for EDFC. And shed at BTI shall ply on western routes towards Rajasthan. PTA Eloco shed shall come inside space provided by DLMW Patiala. And after SRE, only LDH has a eloco shed but that falls in FZR division. SRE shall now be busy holding Prima Locos, hence Ambala desperately needs a shed for RBR.
