The flyover on the outer of YPR has been opened one way. This flyover connects Gorgunteplaya to BEL circle on the ring road. I noticed this yesterday.
-
With the opening of this flyover:
- Trains from TK line towards YPR will no longer be held up at YPR outer.
-

The freight trains coming from BAND or YNK and using the YPR bypass towards TK wont be held up after LOGH, thereby not blocking the line for passenger trains coming from YNK or BAND side.
- YPR PFs will be freed up to an extent, so that trains towards TK won't be held up at PF awaiting the closure of railway gate (which totally depends on Traffic Police orders).
-
Though a much awaited and always in the news flyover, a formal inauguration doesn't seem to have taken place. The reason being that the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017' to be held this weekend on Tumakuru Road-Exhibition grounds. With many dignitaries slated to use that road and one closure of the railway gate at YPR outer having cascading traffic effect on Tumakuru road, the opening has happened without much pomp. Hopefully in a couple of days the other way too is opened, so that train movement is unhindered and delays at YPR is minimised.

Yes, this is a big move and should bring down traffic in that area big time. all the time i have visited YPR in train, i saw only huge traffic standing at the gate.

Yes. A great relief for train passengers.
But not so much for road users. Because when I saw the flyover, as is my habit when I travelled this section 3 years ago, a lot of trucks from BEL side to Gorguntepalya side had stopped. I thought maybe they are testing the strength of flyover by parking trucks on the flyover on one side first. But as the train approached the railway gate, I noticed no traffic from BEL side, just from Gorguntepalya side held up by traffic policemen. That's when I realised that it was not testing but the flyover has been opened in one direction and it was the traffic jam that was so bad that even the new flyover

has not helped matters and instead of being stuck at the railway gate, the vehicles were now stuck on the flyover.

This flyover must be of road from goriguntepalya to Bel circle, were freight trains being held earlier due to closing of railway corssings for vehicles I mean trains were stopped before level crossing on order of traffic police at that junction?
