There used to be a Shatabdi between Rajahmundry and Secunderabad in 1999. It was discontinued due to lack of patronage. Most luxury passengers here tend to prefer over-night connections as both Hyderabad and Tirupati are with a night's journey from any place in the the Telugu states.
