Contractors who were working want to revise the tender cost. This resulted as a major road block for the project. Donno when the work resumes.

Few ? Except HWH-TPTY the present Bilaspur/Puri - Tpty ( express passenger) there are no trains in that route. Max some Vizag, Kakinada trains may run. But you cannot excpet any BBS/HWH-MAS train via this long route even its completed.

I was referring to trains running earlier. Till the late 70's, before Coromandel was started ( when the main line was still a single line), two of the three regular trains from Madras to Howrah used to go via BVRT despite the route being longer. Before it was shortened to start from Bokaro, the present Dhanbad-Alleppy ( then it was Howrah-Madras) used to run via BVRT. After the mainline was doubled, all the trains were diverted to run through the main line itself as the branch line was deemed inconvenient because of single track operation, which became even worse after the mainline was electrified
The chances are very less that we'll see major traffic, but the route will

definitely see some healthy traffic once it is converted to FEDL.

Yes as you said the chances are less very for major topic. No need to of discussing it as a great thing. If we talk about 70's many trains has different routes. Even after FEDL no hwh-mas long distance trains can be expected in this route. May be If Pitapuram-Kakinada, Kakinada-Narasapur over they we can see some Long distance trains Via Kakinada , BVRT to BZA.

(The point about the 70's was just to convey that there is no particular reason for which new trains should not be run on this route and that route priority is not a problem). The distance overhead is practically nothing. And one small advantage for this route is that it would run through the BZA yard, and trains can be dedicated to PF's 1-3 and need not wait at the outer for entering the station ( As we see for Circar/Seshadri and other trains now, which are mostly never held up at BZA outer). Anyways, here's hoping for good times ahead. :)
