Inauguration, the 12503/ 12504 Kamakhya (KYQ)- Bangalore Cantt. (BNC) HUMSAFAR Weekly Express ran with either SGUJ WDP- 4, HWH WDM- 3D, or UDL WDG- 4 in between Kamakhya and Howrah. But this week, the train came with a crazy offlink, i.e. 40042 ET WDP- 4B, and then went back with the same. Earlier, ET Alcos (WDM- 3A, WDM- 3D, WDM- 2) did visit Howrah/ Kolkata, but this was the first time ever that an ET EMD ventured out this far.
In the video, enjoy the furious notching by the EMD, as it cruises past Begumpur station on ER's HB Chord enroute with the glamorous 19 coacher LHB train. After clearing a TSR at Janai Road, the drivers wasted no time in notching up the throttle, and as a result, we were treated with some furious growling by the EMD.
12504 is the second HUMSAFAR Express to hit the tracks. The train follows the Kamakhya- (Via Goalpara Town)- New Bongaigaon- (Via New CoochBehar)- New Jalpaiguri- Kishanganj- Malda Town- Rampurhat- Howrah- Kharagpur- Bhadrakh- Cuttack- Bhubaneshwar- Khurdah Road- Brahmapur- Vizianagaram- Vishakapatnam- Vijayawada- Perumbur- Katpadi- Bangalore Cantt. route.
