The Ranchi - Lohardaga - Tori line will see commercial / passenger operations from March. Per this article minor works at 2-3 locations are left which will be completed prior to the operations. At present 3 Pairs of passenger trains shuttle between Ranchi and Lohardaga. Out of which, 1 pair will operate upto Tori. The total running schedule for that shuttle is 2Hrs and 20 mins (Currently Ranchi - Lohardaga route is covered in 1hr and 30 mins). The new route is clear for speeds upto 86KMPH.
Which means express trains will cover the entire stretch in 1:30 - 1:45 hrs max ..This is a major time gain from the current 4-6 Hrs for most trains via the circuitous Muri route.
