A small write-up on Hassan Junction
Hassan was a small way side station upto the year 1979. In 1979 a new line to Mangaluru in MG was opened. Hassan became a junction. Further during 2006-07 a line was added to SBGA a distance of 45 kms which is part of HAS-SBC new line via Kunigal. Now Hassan Junction has lines in four directions one to ASK,one to MAQ,another to MYS and latest one to SBGA.During MG period 3 passenger trains used to run from MYS-ASK via Has.In 1979 night train to MAQ from SBC via ASK was introduced.
