GE locos have 4-stroke GEVO engines and are much more fuel efficient in comparison to EMD's 2-stroke engines.

That's True!!! Even GE's Tier 4 locos are the most efficient T4 locos in the range of medium speed diesel engine as a prime mover. I work for GE transportation on these locomotives!!!! :)
