Tisco doesn't produce rails . It had earlier manufactured cast iron sleeper pots and mild steel sleepers. Now a days' tisco products are not belongs to indian railways .Jindal steel & power manufactures the rails length hoti 600 feet per piece and which belongs to the international standard but he is more congressi then a businessman so what will be decided in future god know

But Tata Steel uses continues casting technology which is used for rails. So it may possible that they nay again start manufacturing of rails.

TATA steel have access to the the technology to roll the rails as it has acquired CORUS, the European Steel Gaint a few years back.
But, TATA steel shall have to install a rail mill to roll the rails. (investment of atleast a few 1000 crore Rs)
Moreover bloom casters shall be required to produce blooms which ultimately are rolled into rails, Tata Steel shall require bloom casters in its steel making shop. They may have ti modify the existing casters or install a new caster as well.

Report says that SAIL BSP has monopoly over the supply of rails to IR which is not true. Jindal Steel, Raigarh is also supplying rails to IR. More over IR has also imported rails from time to time from manufacturers like British Steel at much higher price, the experience of which has not been encouraging for IR.
Bhilai Steel plant manufactures top quality rails with lowest hydrogen content at reasonable price. It has just installed a new Rail mill of 5 lac tonnes per annum capacity to meet the demands of Indian Railways, which is under commissioning and stabilization. Once the new mill goes into full production, the shortage of rails in India shall be over.
