Usually for uphill trains, brake checks are not required at every station.Rigorous brake checking is required for downhill trains only.
Can 2 passenger trains go in the same direction back to back with a 1 or 2hr gap ?? Is it possible to start some train at MAQ around 7PM towards Hassan side ?? Presently SBC-Karwar exp crosses Sakleshpura-Subramanya between 3-6AM and return between 23:00-2AM.
I guess so. With the total block of 7 hours existing and no restrictions with crossings for passengers, 2 in each direction can go up and down suitably timed for crossings at intermediate stations.
All locos plying in the Ghats are AEB equipped. So the chances of both braker locos failing with passenger trains is almost zero. On the other hand, freights are a bit antiquated compared to passenger rolling stock, be it when in comes to braking or in general. With the momentum that a loaded freight train carries while coming downhill, any minor failure can lead to a derailment.
