As per reply received from Ministry of Indian Railways, chord line at Daund is already sanctioned which will at as Daund bypass connects Pune Manmad line.
As per railway, work is in progress. But I didn't see any work happening there.
If it completes then it will be great for non stop trains like Duranto, KSK & goods trains.

Patas is not well connected from the Pune-Solapur Highway which will act as the biggest mode for changing over from Daund to Its Alternate station.
Between Daund and Pune, the only stations which have present infrastructure of developing as a good alternate for Daund are Kedgaon (proximity with Highway; not that much but still options will be available if CR thinks of it) and Uruli (The terminal point for Pune PMPML buses and is already a big stop over for trains like Jhelum , Cstm Hyd express and sometimes Pune Patna is also given temporary halt during festive seasons ).
