so, is it safe to also say - the Gatimaan "mojo" amongst travellers has vanished. the Gatimaan mania among RFs for that loco and train is gone ?
60-70% occupancy with such high fares. I think Tejas is still success. 60-70% is enough to earn IR a lot of money. Gatimaan with just 30% occupancy could not be said successful even with high fares
I traveled today from Ratnagiri to Dadar, when alighted at Dadar, i noticed that last 2 coaches were completely in power off mode. My original caoch was C3 in Ratnagiri Quota, the coach had 70% occupancy & my seat was in opposite direction of motion & hence moved to C1 Coach, which has just 10% occupancy. The reason, i booked ticket yesterday night because the timing for Ratnagiri departure was moved from 11.50am to 1.10pm, with same arrival timing, means seeded by mins.
The other important addition is number of movies option moved to 10 including 2 marathi movies. during the 1st week of the travel there were hardly any options

Another Idiotic article from the great ''The Hindu". Gatimaan runs with an average of about 70-80% occupancy, don't just rely on the Chart for occupancy predictions, these are short route trains and huge chunk of passengers travel in it by paying the fare difference to the TTE. If they really had to do some meaningful journalism then file Plz. file an RTI and get the operational cost and per trip earnings figures. Vested interest of media at it's best.
