Hi Murliji,
Thanks..
For everyone.. Vasai is only a tech halt and you can't book tickets to or from BSR. Although, I've seen people boarding this train in unreserved at Vasai. These folks seem to know where will this train be made to wait for overtake. But, this is illegal and if one is caught, will be fined! As per rules, one can board n alight only at commercial halts. I may be corrected..

Boarding the train at any technical halt for that matter is not allowed but you can always alight at any technical halt.
Obviously, no one can/will stop you from alighting at tech halt. But, I'd read it in a document some months back, that both boarding and alighting at tech halt is not allowed. Once again, let me clarify, that's what rulebook says. Things are different! :-)
As I'd mentioned in my earlier posts, people actually travel by this train from Vasai to Kelve Road which happens to be a station where this train is put into loop line for overtake by another train, 2216: Bandra-DEE GaribRath. Here, both stations are not commercial halts but still people are using it. Who's going to check into the ever-crowded unreserved coach..
