Is it not possible to do telescopic booking in two different classes? for eg i have booked from maduai to hyderabad in two trains ie from madurai to chennai in alc class and from chennai to hyderabad in sleeper class thru telescopic way but the fare is still the same as you would ve booked in two different tickets.
For telescopic booking in two different classes, the fare charged will be for the highest class in any leg of journey. Thus, to take advantage of telescopic fare, u must travel in same class, in all legs of journey.
kindly elaborate in detail bcoz in this case in the name of telescopic fare they just added both trains fare and charged which means it s not telescopic
Say from Madurai to Chennai AC fare is 900 Rs and distance is 300 kms, and Chennai to Hyderabad Sleeper fare is Rs 400, and distance is 400 Kms, then as per telescopic fare rule u would have to pay for AC fare for 700 Kms, which would have been say 1800 Rs, but by giving u separate tickets, u have been saved money by the reservation clerk. If u provide fares paid by u and train Nos and classes of journey, it can be explained better..
